Silver Dollar City Announces New Rollercoaster

Silver Dollar City

Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, announced it will open a new rollercoaster in the spring of 2027 as part of a $150M park expansion.

Mining for Airtime: Miner’s Mountain Express will be a three-minute, 18-second ride on a more than half-mile track, making it the longest family coaster in the Midwest. The ride will feature two lift hills, 15 airtime moments, a 15-story mining headframe, and more.
Full Steam Ahead: The $150M park expansion will also include a Silver Dollar City Resort, also scheduled to open in 2027, expanding the park into more of a multi-day destination for families.

Oui've Got Dinner Plans Now: Previously located in Downtown Springdale with an exclusively French-focused menu, Bienvenue is now bringing a broader European-inspired concept to Rogers.
Fine Dining: The menu features seasonal ingredients, along with a wine program and handcrafted cocktails.

Washington Regional Named No. 1 Hospital in Arkansas

Washington Regional has been named Arkansas’s #1 Hospital in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings, marking the sixth consecutive year that Washington Regional has earned the state’s top spot.

Setting the Standard: U.S. News evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide across 14 adult specialties and 23 procedures and conditions, including heart attack, hip and knee replacement, diabetes, and maternity care. Washington Regional was named High Performing in 13 areas of care, more than any other hospital in the state.
A Team Effort: The recognition reflects the hospital’s ongoing commitment to high-quality, compassionate care, driven by the physicians, nurses, and team members who show up for patients every day.

U of A Marching Band To Perform at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

For the first time ever, the University of Arkansas Razorback Marching Band will perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City in November 2027.

Hogging the Parade: The band was selected from more than 100 applicants nationwide to perform in the 101st edition of the parade.
The Big Apple: The Razorbacks join a short list of Northwest Arkansas bands to earn a spot in the parade, following Fayetteville High School, which performed in 1998 and 2008.

Family Kayak Day To Take Over Lake Bentonville

37 North Expeditions will host a Family Kayak Day at Lake Bentonville on Sunday, Aug 23, from 9-10:30a.

Paddle This Way: Instructors will teach the fundamentals of kayaking in a session designed for the whole family.
Making Waves: Ages 7 and up are welcome, but kids 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Kayaks, paddles, and life jackets will be provided. Registration closes Friday, Aug 21, at 12p.
